St. Michael’s Cemetery will be the setting for this year’s Memorial Day program in West Point Monday.The program will begin at 10 a.m. with the presentation of the colors by VFW Post #4912 and American Legion Post #70.
Giving this year’s address will be Bill Pook, Region 5/6 Emergency Management Director and a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant.
He served 4 years active duty with two temporary duty (TDY) tours to Thailand and Vietnam. In 1990 during Desert Shield, Bill re-enlisted with the 440th Air Reserve.
The welcome will be given by Gary Kaup, and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Gloria Wellman will lead the singing of The Star-Spangled Banner.
