Lily Evangeline is truly a miracle baby. After a very trying pregnancy and a six weeks premature delivery, Lily is a healthy and happy little girl.
Parents, James and Samantha Kirch kept their faith throughout the troubling times. The problems started right from the beginning as Samantha was losing amniotic fluid and she stayed bedfast at home as long as possible. Samantha spent the last ten weeks bedfast in the Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha where she was kept on antibiotics and the babies heartbeat was monitored several times a day. James spent as much time with them as he possibly could.
Lily was born Aug. 13, just two days short of six weeks premature. She weighed 5 lbs. 1 oz. Lily had to stay in the hospital for 23 more days and Samantha stayed right by her side. They arrived home almost two weeks ago and now, on her actual due date of Sept. 22, Lily weighs approximately 7 lbs.
Samantha had a ruptured appendix that went undetermined for some time when she was 17 years old and that caused her many internal problems. She was told then that it may be impossible to have a child. That makes Lily even more precious to her parents. James remarked that after having a baby of his own, he feels that every baby is a miracle.
