Local girl injured in single vehicle accident

A one-vehicle accident west of West Point Monday afternoon injured a local high school student, who was taken to an Omaha hospital by medical helicopter.
The name of the person injured was not being released by the Cuming County Sheriff’s Department at press time Tuesday morning.
The accident took place Monday afternoon at about 2 p.m., just west of the intersection of County Roads K and 12, about 7 miles northwest of West Point.
Beemer Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the driver to St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
She was later flown by medical helicopter to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center. Her condition was not made available.
The driver lost control of the 1997 Ford Ranger she was driving, which left the road. She was ejected from the vehicle.
