District 16 State Senator Lydia Brasch this week officially filed to run for re-election to the Nebraska Unicameral.
With a month left for current office holders to file for re-election for the May primary, a handful of local elected officials have thrown their hat into the ring.
County supervisors Steven Meister (District 1) and Leslie Ott (District 7) filed in the past week.
Also filing recently was County Treasurer Judy Bracht. Filing earlier was County Sheriff Brad Boyum.
Laura Wagner filed this week for Clerk of the District Court. The incumbent in that office, Merna Recker, has not filed.
The lone city office holder to file so far is West Point Mayor Marlene Johnson.
Also filing to seek another term in office was Timothy Jacobsen and Dave Raabe for Wisner-Pilger school board.
Incumbents have until Tuesday, Feb. 18 to file as a candidate for the primary election. Non-incumbents have until Monday, March 3, to file.
