The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, Iowa State University Extension, and the Nebraska Beef Council are once again sponsoring the Beef Feedlot Roundtable.
The event will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Nielsen Community Center in West Point.
Registration also can be made at the door on Feb. 13, and will take place from 8:00-8:30 a.m.
Introductions and welcomes will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the first of nine presentations to follow at 8:45 a.m.
The titles and times for the presentations is as follows: 8:45- Changes in gain during feeding period; 9:30- Using fiber for cattle or ethanol; 10:15- Large animal mortality composting; 10:45- BRD bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance; 11:30- Beef industry update; 1:00- FDA eliminates antibiotic use for growth promotion and efficiency; 1:30- Cattle shifts and market outlook; 2:15- UN-L feedlot research update; 2:45- Feedlot audits.
An optional beef quality assurance training course will be held from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Lunch will be provided at 12 noon and sponsored by the Nebraska Beef Council.
Roundtable pre-registration fees are $30, or they can be $40 at the door the day of the event. The BQA training course fees are $20 per person.
