Cuming County now has a primary election race... Well, one part of the county does, anyway.
Voters in District 7 will have at least two candidates to choose from to represent them on the county board of supervisors.
Jan Schuetze filed this week as a challenger to incumbent Leslie Ott, who filed earlier. Both names will be on the Republican ticket.
Other new filings for office since last Wednesday include:
— Incumbent Glenn Wiechman for supervisor, District 5
— Incumbents Lou Reimers (4-year term) and Walter Lubbert (2-year term) for West Point Public Schools’ board of education.
Many of the incumbents for local office have filed, but those that haven’t have until Feb. 18 to do so if they intend to seek office.
Non-incumbents have until March 3 to file.
