Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Lucas Van Winkle - January 26, 2011
A son, Lucas Lee, was born to Ryan and Jackie (Kaup) Van Winkle of Omaha. He was born at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, weighing in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce.Grandparents are Tim and Jeanette Kaup of West Point and Doug and Adrienne Van Winkle of Omaha.
Great-grandparents are Rita Pieper and Bernice Kaup all of Dodge and Irene Van Winkle of Burwell.
