Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

WP-B bids farewell to seniors
West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Leona Reeson Rubino - August 18, 2010
Leona Reeson Rubino died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at AJ Merrick Manor, Fremont. A funeral Mass was held Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Father Ron Battiato officiated. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, West Point.Survivors include two brothers, Arthur and Mary Reeson of West Point and Brother Leonard, CSC of Santarem, Brazil; two sisters, Loretta Schmaderer Muhs of West Point and Arlene Reeson of Cedar Bluffs.
Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Fremont and to the Activity Fund at AJ Merick Manor, Fremont.
Moser Memorial Chapel Fremont, was in charge of arrangements.
