Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Funeral services for Loren M. Siebrandt, 81, of West Point, were Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point. Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Loren died on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at his home in West Point.Survivors include children, Lonnie and his Pamela of Tucson, Ariz., Ronald and his Sue of West Point, Judy Anderson of Norfolk, Janet Finken and Neal of Bennington, Deborah Siebrandt-Kafka and Joseph Kafka of San Jose, Calif., Loren Siebrandt Jr. of West Point, William Siebrandt of Pebble Beach, Calif., Harold (Harry) Siebrandt and friend Shannon Finn of Scottsdale, Ariz., Peggy Siebrandt of Newport, R.I.; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Daniel Fullner of Madison, daughter-in-law, Lisa Siebrandt of West Point; siblings, Lanelle Hillie of Crowley, Texas and LeAnna and Eldon Petersen of Stanton; Loren’s dear friend Rosie Plummer.
The family has suggested memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School and the Cuming County Historical Society.
Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
