Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Larry Lund - September 29, 2010
Larry Lund, 64, of West Point, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at his home.Funeral services with military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Stokely Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Richard Bringewatt will officiate. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) with family receiving friends 5 - 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the West Point Rescue or West Point Fire Department.
Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary “Mae” of West Point; daughters, Jean Marie and Paul Shonka of Dodge and Jody and Mark Greckel of West Point; three grandchildren; and sisters, Jane and Bob Timm and Lana and Dallas Hinnerichs both of Stanton.
