Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Allen Mueller - December 15, 2010
Allen O. Mueller, 91, of rural Arlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Hooper Care Center. A funeral service was Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Rev. Mark Weber officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with military honors.Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Family Choice.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene of Hooper; children, Barbara and Steve Nast of Lincoln, Virginia and Allan McDuffee of Glendale, Ariz., Deborah and Steve Pawling of Scribner; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Willis and Verda Mueller of North Bend, Orlando and Lois Mueller of rural Hooper; sisters-in-law, Mildred Bartling of Hastings, Edna Panning of Fremont, Alice Bartling of Fremont; brothers-in-law, Elmer and Sue Struening of New York, LeRoy and Joyce Fischer of Fremont.
Ludvigsen Mortuaries, Fremont, were in charge of arrangements.
