Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Mary K. Bronson, 64, of Bancroft, Died on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services were Thursday, Dec 30, 2010, at at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft. Father Paul Ortmeier officiated. Interment was in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery in Bancroft.Survivors include her husband Harrie; children Melissa Bronson of Bancroft, Matthew Bronson of Shreveport, LA.; brothers Marvin and Rita Gatzemeyer of Willow Springs, MO., Rodney and Carol Gatzemeyer of Parkerville, MO.; sisters Belva and Robert L. Bailey of Aiken, SC, and Maxine Buchholz of Bancroft.
Munderloh Funeral Home, Pender, was in charge of arrangements.
