Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Rev. Burnell Beyers - January 19, 2011
Funeral services for Rev. Burnell D. Beyers, 86, Fremont, are Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont. Rev. Beyers, a retired Lutheran minister, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center.Visitation is Thursday, 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont.
A family interment will be at Memorial Cemetery, Fremont.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; daughter, Robin and Dennis Williams of Fremont; sons, William and Stephanie Beyers of Loveland, Colo., and John Beyers of Woodbury, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Beryl Samp of Aberdeen, S.D. and Marilyn Holubeck of Bellevue.
Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, is in charge of arrangements.
