Vernon Koester, 72, of rural Scribner, died at his home on Monday, March 7, 2011.
A funeral will be Friday, March 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner. Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Scribner Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Scribner Volunteer Fire Department and the Scribner Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his wife, Marian of Scribner; son, Steve of Seward; two daughters, Diane of Norfolk and Joann of Columbus; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; two sisters, Darlene Schwinck of West Point and Norma and Norman Tonjes of Scribner; brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Weber of Missouri.
Scribner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
