Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Randy Dale Hinrich, 53, of Lexington, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. Services were Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington. Pastor Megan Morrow officiated. A second visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Burial was Friday, April 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Cemetery at Pender.Survivors include his wife, Carol Hinrich of Lexington; son, Ryan Hinrich of Lexington; daughter, Bethany Hinrich of Kearney and her fiance’ John Gutschow; one granddaughter; mother, Dorothy Hinrich of Pender; sister, Debbie and Rick Tiedtke of Stanton, parents-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Clausen of Pender; sisters-in-law, Glenda and Jim Mueller of Emerson, Becky and Louis Mostek of Pender, Jill and Ken Nesladek of West Point.
Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements locally with Munderloh Funeral Home in charge of arrangements in Pender.
