Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Dean Dinklage - April 27, 2011
Memorial services for Dean T. Dinklage, 77, of Wisner, will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, with a Masonic Service. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery.Dean passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 as a result of an accident at home.
Survivors include wife Marleen Dinklage of Wisner; sons Craig Dinklage and his wife Terry of Graham, WA and Marc Dinklage of Lincoln; mother-in-law- Martha Schnoor of Wisner; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
