Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

David George Nelson, 60, of Bellevue, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Omaha. A memorial gathering as held Thursday, June 2, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel, Plattsmouth.David is survived by his wife, Jerri Nelson of Bellevue; daughter, Traci Nelson of Hickman; son, Aaron Nelson and wife Jessica of Palmyra; daughter, Jeane Jaks and husband Gordon of New Port Richey, Fla.; daughter, Judy Scott of Des Moines, Iowa; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Jonathan Nelson of Fremont, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
