Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Raymond Dinslage - May 25, 2011
Raymond Dinslage, 86, of West Point, died, Friday, May 20, 2011, at the West Point Living Center. A funeral Mass was Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Aloys, west of West Point. Rev. Frank Lordemann officiated with burial in the church cemetery.Memorials may be to St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Erma, of West Point; daughter, Renee and Steve Bossard of Norfolk; sons, Gary of LaVista, Gene of Clarkson, Ken and Sheryl of Omaha; five grandchildren; brothers, Wendelin Dinslage of West Point and Norbert and Elaine Dinslage of Clarkson.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
