Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Janice Krueger - June 22, 2011
Funeral services for Janice Krueger, 71, of West Point, were Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point. Pastor Richard Bringewatt officiated. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.Janice died on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the West Point Living Center in West Point.
Survivors include her children, Loren and Janet Krueger of Des Moines, Iowa, Kenneth Krueger of Omaha, Kevin Krueger of Omaha, and Lori Allen of West Point; grandchildren, Nicole and Cody Allen; and sister, Karen Uhl of Sioux City, Iowa.
Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
