Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25... West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Arnold C. Steinmeyer - July 06, 2011

Funeral services for Arnold C. Steinmeyer, 78, of Rosalie, were Sunday, July 3 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie with the Rev. Neal Mather officiating. Interment was in the Bancroft Cemetery. He passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Logan Valley Manor in Lyons.
Arnold is survived by son Allen and his wife Kay of Lyons, and Kent and his wife Lyn of Bancroft; special daughter-in-law Vicki Hankins; grandchildren Trevor Steinmeyer and his wife Heidi, Andrew Steinmeyer and his wife Beth, Shelly Walker and her husband Joe, Julie Burhoop and her husband Landon, Seth Steinmeyer, Teagan Steinmeyer; four great-grandchildren Jaylon, Riley and Paisley Steinmeyer and Triniti Burhoop; sister Helen Lierman and her husband Arlen of Beemer; and brother Robert Steinmeyer and his wife Cathy of Wisner.
