Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Herman Kloke - July 06, 2011
Funeral services for Herman C. Kloke, 97, of Hastings, formerly of West Point, were Thursday, June 25, 2011, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Assumption, with military rites. Father Thomas Brouillete officiated. Interment was at the Assumption Cemetery.Casket bearers were Jack Kloke, Alvin Kloke, Clarence Uhing, Peter Konen, Larry Parr and James Riese.
Survivors include a sister, Johanna Kloke of West Point; sister-in-law, Caroline Konen Maunu of Pasadena, Calif.; sister-in-law, LaVerna Kloke of Hooper; nieces; nephews and cousins.
