Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Donna Wiese - July 27, 2011
Donna Mae Wiese, 82 years, formerly of Lyons, died Sat., July 23, 2011, at the Waverly Care Center in Waverly after a brief illness. A funeral service was Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons with Rev. Richard Karohl officiating.Burial was at the Lyons Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 9850 Nicholas St. Ste. 200, Omaha, NE 68114.
Survivors include her children, David Wiese and Jean of High Point, N.C., Ruth Wiese and LaShon Skuta of Richmond, Va., Dan Wiese and Janet of Waverly, Jim Wiese and Kathy of Lincoln, Mary Kaufman and Dennis of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Ryan Wiese and Gentri, Jeff Wiese and Kristen, Tim Wiese, Sara Wiese and Brian, Anthony Wiese, Jessica Karlen and Matthew, Nathan Wiese and Laura, Nichols Wiese and Megan, Nathan Yosten, Ryan Haraugh, Parker Harbaugh, Emily Kaufman, Graham Kaufman; great-grandchildren, Addison Wiese, Maggie Johnson, Elijah Karlen, Cayden Wiese, Avery Wiese, and Gavin Harbaugh.
Pelan Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
