Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Funeral services for Francis Breitkreutz, 85, of Wisner, were Sat., July 30, 2011, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment with military honors was in the Wisner Cemetery. Francis died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anna Mae of Wisner; sons, Jeff and Diane Breitkreutz of Burwell and Bill and Tonya Breitkreutz of Wisner; daughters, Cheryl Breitkreutz of Santa Clara, Calif., Sue and John Hanzlik of Wisner, Lori Reeson of Fremont, Julie and Dennis Spickelmier of Lincoln, and Merri Breitkreutz of Wisner; one daughter-in-law, Dana Breitkreutz of Fremont; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Karen and Mike Kuzelka of Wisner; and two brothers, Richard and Alice Breitkreutz and Ronnie and Mary Jane Breitkreutz both of Wisner.
