Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Funeral services for Lester Otto Heinemann, 87, of Garden City, KS, will be Thursday, Aug. 11 at St. James Lutheran Church in Garden City, KS, with Pastor Anthony J. Striffler presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, KS. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, KS.Lester died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, KS.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Charlotte LaNoue, Fremont; three sons, Dave Heinemann of Topeka, KS, Ray Heinemann of Garden City, KS and Don Heinemann of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Caralea Froese of Guymon, OK; one sister, Mildred Rintoul of Hutchinson, KS; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be given to the Lester Heinemann Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
