Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Carmen “Micki” Truman - August 17, 2011
Funeral services for Carmen “Micki” Truman, 53, of Beemer, were held Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the United Methodist Church of Christ in Wisner. Graveside services were at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.Micki passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at the West Point Living Center in West Point.
Survivors include husband Gary F. Truman of Beemer; children and families: Shelli and husband Chad Jordan of Sioux City, IA and their children Mikai and Maliha, Stacey Hanson of Ponca and special friend Eric Bevelhymer, Gary Truman of Oakland, Paula Jo and husband Dave Stahl of Hooper and their children Daniel and Carle`, Jason Truman of Wisner and fiancée Jeannie Schnoor and daughter Navaeh; mother Pat and husband Dale Eilders of Story City, IA; father Alvin “Duke” Schulz of LeMars, IA; sister Dawn and husband David Hauf of South Sioux City; two nephews Adam and Chad Hauf of South Sioux City; sisters- and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Kenny Schantz of Norfolk, Rick Truman of Norfolk, Keith and Sandy Truman of St. Helena and Lynda and Leland Andersen of Norfolk; and mother-in-law Mary Truman of Norfolk.
