Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Memorial services for Mary Eichelberger age 57 of Beemer, were Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at the Beemer Mennonite Church in Beemer. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Roy Eichelberger of Beemer; son, Ryan and Heidi Eichelberger of Beemer; daughters, Holli Dale of Beemer and family Allison, Abbey and Ethan, Alexis and Jon Martin of Pawling, NY and family, Zachary, Elsie and Emma, Cortney and Adam Hass of Kearney, and family Aidan and Isaac, Sadie Eichelberger of Beemer and family Jaxon; mother, Darleen Murphy of Beemer; sister, Jane Murphy of Beemer; brothers, Gary and Connie Murphy of Fremont, and family, Joe and Donna Murphy of Olathe, Kan. and family, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
