Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25... West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Anna Bell Geu - November 09, 2011

Funeral services for Anna Bell Geu, age 85, of West Point, will be on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, with interment in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, and will continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Relatives and friends can leave online condolences on Anna Bell’s Book of Memories at www.kuzelka-minnickfuneralhomes.com. The family has suggested that memorials be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point or the Cuming County Fair Foundation.
Anna Bell passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.
Survivors include daughter Arlene and Art Rolf of West Point; son-in-law, Marv Steskel of Ewing; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia and Lyman Wagner of Hooper; sisters-in-law, Willene and Henry Schiffbauer of Omaha; Verla Geu of Wisner; nieces and nephews.
