Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Marcella Jindra - November 23, 2011
Funeral Mass for Marcella Jindra, age 93, of Howells, was Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at the St. John’s Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells. Interment will be in St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Howells. Marcella passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.Minnick Funeral Home in West Point was in charge of arrangements. Relatives and friends can leave online condolences on Marcella’s Book of Memories at www.kuzelka-minnickfuneralhomes.com.
The family suggests memorials to the St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery rural Howells.
Survivors include children and their families, Leonard and wife Elizabeth Jindra of Norfolk, Elaine and husband Emil Roubal of Howells, LaVaine (Deceased) and her husband Gerald Kassmeier of Snyder, Loretta and husband Larry Severson of Vermillion, S.D., Marlene and husband Randy Rohde of Columbus; 12 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elgina Bures of Dodge; brothers, Lambert and wife Helen Svitak of Norfolk, Raymond Svitak of Norfolk, Vernon Svitak of Mesa, Ariz., Randolph and wife Esther Svitak of Creighton, Edward and wife Mary Svitak of Howells; and sister-in-law, Maryann Svitak of Columbus.
