Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Russell J. Miller - November 30, 2011
Funeral services for Russell J. Miller, 88, of Pilger, were Tuesday, Nov. 29 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pilger. Interment with Military Honors was in the Pilger Cemetery.He passed away Nov. 26, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk, two days short of his 89th birthday.
Survivors include daughter Judith and husband Gene Schroeder of Wakefield; daughter Peggy and husband Ken Sonder of Verdigre; son Reed Miller of Kearney; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
