Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Eleanor Bloedorn - December 21, 2011
Funeral services for Eleanor D. Bloedorn, age 87, of Wisner, were Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment was in the Wisner Cemetery.Eleanor passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.
She leaves to mourn her three children, Brenda and husband Lyle Stewart of Tempe, Ariz., Bruce and his wife Emma Bloedorn of Wisner and Lance and his wife Cindy Bloedorn of Wisner; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Duane and wife Doris Clatanoff of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Dolores Horst of Wisner, Arlene Rabe of Omaha, Marcy Tonjes of Pender; sisters-in-law, Arlene Clatanoff of Wisner, Herda Brand of Wisner, and Dorothy Doescher of Beemer.
Minnick Funeral Home, Wisner, was in charge of arrangements.
