Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Larry Dean Hille - January 25, 2012
Funeral services for Larry Dean Hille, 66, of Pierce were Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk with the Reverend Nathaniel Winkel will officiate. Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Norfolk. Larry died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at his home.Larry is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Mrs. Charles (Kris) Williams of Omaha, David Hille of Pierce, Cory and wife, Michelle, Hille of Osmond and Scott and wife, Lorinda, Hille of Belden; grandchildren, Mrs. Jeff (Kayla) Henrickson, Corban Williams, KaShonda Williams, Jade Hille, Brenden Hille, Spencer Hille and Tristan Hille; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ella, Traton, and Damian Henrickson; mother, Dorothy Hille; brother, Eugene Hille and sister Judy Burnette, all of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Hille and brother, Dale Hille
