Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Frank Christiansen - March 14, 2012
Memorial services for Frank N. Christiansen, 83, of Fremont, were Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Cremains were placed in the columbarium at Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20.He died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Arbor Manor in Fremont.
Survivors include his wife, Marrion; son, Randy and wife Bonny Christiansen of Fremont; daughter, Robin and husband Loran Hilbers of Hooper; sister, Aletha and husband Fred Toy of Fremont; six grandchildren, Douglas Christiansen, Jennifer Barker, Travis Christiansen, Nathan Hilbers, Greg Hilbers and Brent Hilbers; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
