Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.
10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.
Arlington shuts down Seniors West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Reuben Jensen, Jr. - March 21, 2012

Funeral services for Reuben Jensen, Jr., 85, of Pilger, were Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton with the Rev. Jerry Connealy officiating. Interment was at Stanton Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post #3602 and American Legion Post #88 of Stanton.
He died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara Jensen of Stanton; eight sons, Dave and Diane Jensen of Stanton, Warren and Deb Jensen of Norfolk, Walt and Annette Jensen of Osmond, Dan Jensen of Pilger, Mike and Deb Jensen of Pilger, Tim and Joleen Jensen of Pilger, Jim Jensen of Wisner, Pat and Kathy Jensen of Stanton; four daughters, Mary and Rob Bashaw of Peru, NY, Janet and Sid Buxton of Corcoran, MN, Barb and Jim Wurdinger of Stanton, Margaret and Keith Drott of Leigh; 50 grandchildren; 36 great- grandchildren; and sister, Delores and Bill Kucera of Herrin, IL; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jensen of Washington and Virgine Jensen of Pilger.
