Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

VonDelle Heinold - March 21, 2012
Funeral services for VonDelle Heinold, 74, of Pilger, were Friday, March 16, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pilger. Interment was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.VonDelle passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at her home.
Survivors include daughter, Lynn and husband LeRoy Koehlmoos of Pilger; sons, Jeff and wife Lynn Heinold of Essex, Iowa and Lee Heinold of Pilger; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kristin and husband Jesse Moody of Columbus; Katie and husband Aaron Donner of Wisner and step great-granddaughter, Gwen; Kellie Koehlmoos of Columbus and special friend DJ Wisnieski; Shane Heinold of Virginia Beach, VA and special friend Kristin Lutwack and great-granddaughters, Nevaeh and Nielli; Levi Heinold of Essex, IA; Chase Heinold of Omaha; Jennica and husband Justin Heywood of Omaha and great-granddaughter, Audree.
Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
