Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25... West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Donald D. Heller - April 25, 2012

Funeral services for Donald D. Heller, 71, of Stanton, will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. Interment will be in the Pilger Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. following lunch and fellowship. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Stanton from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Don passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his home. Arrangements are being handled by the Minnick Funeral Home in Pilger.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Heller of Stanton; mother-in-law, Virgie Burris Frerichs of Stanton; brother, Orville (and wife, Alvina) Heller of Norfolk; sisters, Helen Carroll of Stanton, Delores (and husband, Don Schoenrock) of Fayetteville, TN, and Joan Holmes of Sacramento, CA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darryl and Becky Frerichs of Pilger, Warren Frerichs of Randolph, Rita and David Andrews of Stanton, Mary Frerichs of Pilger, Shirley Frerichs of Omaha and Judy Frerichs of Lincoln; nieces and nephews, Leon Carroll and family, Loren Carroll and family, Don Carroll and family, Todd Heller and family, Holly Heller, Debra Barnes and family, Doug Schoenrock and family, Daron Schoenrock and family, Mike Holmes, Eugene Heller and family, Cindy Milligan and family, Brad Frerichs and family, Dean Frerichs and family, Clint Frerichs and family, Chad Frerichs and family, Eric Frerichs and family, Luke Frerichs, and Maolculm Andrews and family.
