West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Mabel Stalling - May 30, 2012
Memorial services for Mabel Stalling age 88 of Wisner, were Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, with interment in the Beemer Cemetery.Mabel passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Wisner Care Center where she had resided for the past two months due to failing health.
Mabel is survived by a sister, Verna J. Rabe of Wisner; nephew, Jeff and wife Tami Rabe of Wisner; niece, Teresa and husband Marlin Munderloh of Wisner; great-nieces, nephews and families Tara and Dave Taylor of Wisner and children Keah and Kyla; Tasha and Matt Breitbarth of Pender and children Nathan, Jaxen and Megan; Tiffany Beckman of Wisner, and son Talan; Cory Rabe of Lincoln, Zac Rabe of Des Moines, Iowa, Matthew and Christina Munderloh of Omaha and son Miles; Bradley Munderloh and Heather Kratzch of Lincoln and daughter Ella.
