Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Sharon Albus, 73, of West Point died Friday, June 8, 2012 at Legacy Garden Living Center in Pender. Funeral services were Monday, June 11, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiated. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery.Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
Sharon is survived by husband, LeRoy of West Point; sons, Nick (Delpha) of Lexington, Dan (Kay) of Madison, Chris (Shelley) of West Point and Chad (Tab) of Pender; daughters, Barbara Renter of Wynot, and Ginger (Joel) Hunke of Snyder; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Warren Heyne of Boulder City, Nev.; sister, Mary (Ron) Neiman of West Point; and brother-in-law, Jim Reimers of West Point.
