Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Donald Matthes - June 27, 2012
Funeral services for Donald Matthes, 82, were Wednesday, June 27 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. Internment with military rites followed at Wisner Cemetery.Don passed away on June 24, 2012 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Don is survived by his children, Layne (Roxy) Matthes of Wisner, Lonnie (Pam) Matthes of Wayne, Loy (Mary) Matthes of Rapid City, SD, and Jaelene (Steve) Koll of Lincoln; ten grandchildren, Tony Matthes, of Genoa, Cole Matthes of Lincoln, Kelsy Matthes, of Verdigree, Katelyn Matthes, Emily Matthes of Wayne, Samuel Matthes, Sarah Matthes and Jacob Matthes of Rapid City, SD, Brandy Koll of Kearney and Quincy Koll of Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Layney Matthes and Lausyn Matthes of Genoa; a sister, Marjorie (Rolland) Victor of Lincoln; nieces, and nephews.
