Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Tanna Knobbe - July 04, 2012
Private family services for Tanna Knobbe, 4 1/2 month old daughter of Ryan and Grace Knobbe of West Point, are being held under the direction of Minnick Funeral Home in West Point. The family has suggested that memorials be directed to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE and in lieu flowers the family would encourage everyone to consider donating blood through the American Red Cross.Tanna passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
Survivors include her parents, Ryan and Grace Knobbe of West Point; grandparents, Pat and Stephanie Knobbe of West Point, Jeff and Annette Haberman of St. Helena; great-grandparents, Clem and Mildred Knobbe of West Point, Jim and Joan Haberman of Crofton and Janet Grass of Yankton, S.D. Tanna is also survived by lots of other family members that loved her.
