Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Dolores Rief - July 25, 2012
Funeral services for Dolores E. Rief, age 94 of Wisner, were Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wisner. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wisner. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Joseph’s Church Foundation, c/o St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1318 Ave. G Wisner, NE 68791.Mrs. Rief passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Bob) Feller Wisner; sons, Larry Rief, North Platte, Mike (Kathy) Rief, Shelby, Tom (Brenda) Rief Seward; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Dolores) Emanuel Fremont; sister, Agnes Lewis Denver, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Elaine Emanuel Fremont.
Minnick Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
