Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Clarence Ortmeier, 69, of Dodge, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha after living with cancer five years. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Rev. Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Survivors include his wife, Peggie of Omaha; daughters, Debra (Antonio) Quiroz of Downingtown, Pa., Julie Ortmeier of Alexandria, Va., and Stacie Ortmeier of Omaha; son, Jeff (Kim) of Lithia, Fla.; grandchildren, Lily, Nicholas and Margaret Quiroz, Alex and Sammy Ortmeier; mother-in-law, Audrey Schulze of Dodge; brothers, Jerry (Marilyn) Ortmeier of Dodge and Dan (Rose Ann) Ortmeier of Fremont; sister, Mary Ann Batenhorst of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews.
