Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Memorial services for William A. “Bill” Sinclair, 69, of Rapid City, SD, were Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Berean Fundamental Church in Gregory, SD. Interment was in the Gregory IOOF Cemetery.He died Saturday, July 14, 2012, passing away peacefully in his sleep, at Golden Living Center, Prairie Hills in Rapid City, SD, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Estell Sinclair, Rapid City, SD; daughters, Stacie (Dan) Heesch, Mitchell, SD and Cheryl (Kyle) Gray, Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Matt (Mauri) Heesch, Omaha, Zachary Heesch, currently deployed in Afghanistan, Katie Heesch, Mitchell, SD, Emily Heesch, Mitchell, SD, Joe Heesch, Mitchell, SD, Jerad Gray, Pierre, SD, Ryan Gray, Rapid City, SD; one great-grandson, Matthew Tanska-Heesch, Faith; sisters, Marlene Rae, Louviers, CO, Joan (Dick) Shoemaker, Gregory, SD, Kay Nikodym, Papillion, Kerri (Larry) Bockelman, Wisner, and Linda Sinclair, Midland, SD; sister-in-law, Jeanette (Milo) Jelinek, Gregory, SD.
