Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Martin P. Klein, 66, of Lincoln, formerly of Winslow, died Aug. 3, 2012, at Madonna Long Term Care facility after a lengthy illness. A memorial service and Mass was held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Snyder.Memorials may be made to Winslow Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments, P.O. Box 157, Winslow, NE 68072.
Marty is survived by five children, Toni (Randy) Goldenstein, Lincoln, Kari (Greg) DeNinno, Venice, Fla., Marty (Amy) Klein, Jr., Grand Island, Jennifer (Patrick) Wackerla, Olathe, Kan., and Zachary (Lisa) Klein, Winslow; 10 grandchildren, Ross, Alexa, Jacob, Celia, Sam, Ella, Lance, Ben, Madison and Cameron; six siblings: Tony Klein, Pierre, S.D., Francis Klein, Hot Springs, Ark., Rita Weiler-Williams, Martinez, Calif., Tom Klein, Crete, Aggie Ortmeier of West Point, Jerry Klein, Painsville, Ohio; and by many relatives and friends.
