Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25... West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

WP-B bids farewell to seniors West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Lois Anderson - August 22, 2012

Funeral services for Lois Anderson, 81, of Wisner, will be on Friday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is handling the arrangements for the family.
Lois passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center.
Survivors include husband, Ebbert J. Anderson of Wisner; daughters and their families, Deb and husband Tom Risinger of Omaha and family, Ryan and wife Brandy Risinger of Omaha and children Evelyn and Lincoln, and Reed and wife Amanda Risinger of Ballwin, MO; Jaye and husband Gerald Lierman of Beemer and family, Carmen and husband Owen Schmoldt of Sulfer Springs, TX and son Austin, Gina and husband Tim Landsperger of Blair and son Rory, and Jordan Lierman of Wisner, and special friend Kendra and her daughter Dillyn Schultz; sister-in-law, Marianne Von Seggern of Wisner and her family.
