Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Wendelin Dinslage - August 29, 2012
Wendelin C. Dinslage, age 91, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. Father Leo Rigatuso was celebrant. Burial was in S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.Survivors include children, Janice (Russ) Priess of Raymond, Leroy (Deb) Dinslage of Seward, Dennis (Agnes) Dinslage of West Point, Sharon Wieneke of Syracuse, Karen (Bob) Heinen of DeSoto, Kan., and Lorraine (Dave) Prusa of Firth; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Norbert (Elaine) Dinslage of Clarkson, Erma Dinslage of West Point, and Delores Balak of McKinney, Texas.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery and St. Josephs Retirement Community.
Svoboda Funeral Home in Schuyler was in charge of arrangements.
