Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Carol Reimers - June 30, 2010
Carol A. Reimers, 63, of West Point died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at her home.Funeral services were Saturday, June 26, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point. Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiated. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, James of West Point; children, Michael and Michelle Reimers of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dr. Connie Reimers-Hild and James Hild of Beaver Lake, Craig and Cary Reimers of Omaha, Marsha and Richard Bacon of Cook, Jade and Jennifer Reimers of Kearney and Joshua and Antonia Reimers of Blair; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Sharon and LeRoy Albus and Mary and Ron Neiman all of West Point; brother, Warren Heyne of Boulder City, Nev.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
