Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Destani SummerRose Wilder, 11, of Sargent died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, after an automobile accident near Miller.Survivors include her father and stepmother, Richard and Sarah Wilder, sisters, Montannah and Shalee, and stepbrother, Gus, all of Wisner; mother, Amanda Wilder of Sargent; grandparents, Ed and Etta Wilder and Richard and Kathy Ogden, all of Broken Bow; great-grandparents, Evelyn Wilder of Gordon and Larry and Jeanette Powers of Columbus; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, scattered from border to border.
Memorials may be made to the Wilder Fund at any Great Western Bank.
