Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Faith Hallien - October 10, 2012
Funeral services for Faith Nicole Hallien, 5 months, of Washington, MO, were held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington with interment in the church cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Mark Bangert.Faith, the daughter of Aaron and Jennifer Hallien, nee Tietz, was born April 3, 2012 in St. Louis, MO.
Faith Nicole Hallien passed away on Sept. 30, 2012 in St. Louis.
Among her survivors are her parents, Aaron and Jennifer Hallien of Washington; 2 brothers, A.J. and Lucas Hallien of Washington; Grandparents, Duane and Sheryl Tietz of Bancroft and Steve and Linda Hallien of Ft. Wayne, IN; Great-grandparents, Lloyd and Helen Tietz of Bancroft and Vivian Hurst of Churubusco, IN; godparents, Brian and Kristie Lock and Jerrica Tietz; aunts,uncles,cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, John and Florence Hallien,Robert and Kathryn Petersen, and Ivan Hurst.
Memorials were to the Immanuel Lutheran School-New Playground or Cardinal Glennon NICU.
Arrangements in care of Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
