Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Harland Rennerfeldt - November 07, 2012
Harland Rennerfeldt, 84, of West Point, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. A memorial Mass was Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.Rev. Gerald Gonderinger officiated. Burial with military honors was at St. Michael’s Cemetery.Honorary pallbearers were Greg Wermers, Gene “Joe” Murphy, Mike Dreher and Anna Rennerfeldt.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Blue Jay Booster Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; son, Gary (Anna) Rennerfeldt of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; daughters, Diane (Greg) Wermers of Fremont, Donna (Gene “Joe”) Murphy of Olathe, Kan., and Deb (Mike) Dreher of Norfolk; brother Dallas (Marlene) Rennerfeldt of Helena, Mont.; sister Maxine (Mel) Newill of Missoula, Mont.; grandchildren, Gina (Chad) Taylor, Lisa (Zak) Klein, Kim Hadcock, Mark Hadcock, Kari (Tom) Ramseth, Amy (Drew) Gaschler, Tommy Murphy, Heather Rennerfeldt, Michael Rennerfeldt, Matt Dreher, Emily Dreher and Jeremy Dreher; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
