Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Mattie Sim - November 14, 2012
Mattie Mae Sim, 87, Lincoln, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at her home in Lincoln. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Nebraska City. Burial was in Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City.Survivors include her sons, Stephen Eugene Sim and Stanton Wayne Sim both of Lincoln; daughter, Mary SimBarcelos Debebe and her husband Joseph of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Mattie SimBarcelos and Nile Debebe; sisters, Mrs. Virginia Jensen and her husband Donald of Lenoir, N.C. and Mary Margaret Hoag and her husband Kenneth of Sedona, Ariz.; many other relatives and friends.
Marshall Funeral Chapel of Nebraska City was in charge of arrangements.
